Tim Peters has owned and operated T.C. Peters Construction as a general contractor and construction manager since 1975. He has completed hundreds of commercial projects of all sizes as the business has grown and prospered. A land conservationist, environmentalist and preservationist, he is a champion for adaptive use of existing buildings. His projects have won numerous preservation and environmental awards.
A native of Wisconsin, he attended the University of Wisconsin before joining the Army in 1965, serving in Vietnam and various other posts before leaving military service in 1975 as an Army Captain. He is a graduate of the University of Louisville. He has served on the Kentucky State Board of Housing, Building and Construction and is a member of Greater Louisville Inc., the Kentucky Historical Society Lincoln Society, the Kentucky Agricultural Heritage Center’s Pacesetter Society, Community Farm Alliance and Slow Food Bluegrass. He is a past board member of Preservation Alliance, Operation Brightside and the High Hope Steeplechase. He is an owner and member of the executive committee of Village8/Baxter Avenue Apex Cinemas and one of the developers of the Jefferson Market in Louisville’s NuLu East Market District.
With his wife, Lois Mateus, Peters owns and operates Tallgrass Farm near Harrodsburg, Kentucky where their Tallgrass Farm Foundation regularly brings inner city children to the country for field day experiences. He is a passionate gardener and enjoys cooking, hunting, fishing and long walks with their dogs, Spider and Augusta. |
